The staff there were absolutely amazing! It was my first time there, so I definitely had to try their Cinnamon Roll Pancake special! However, the real star of the show were the Home Fries! Best I've ever had, thank you.

Absolutely delicious food, and a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Staff works very hard and keep everything friendly and very homey. The breakfast menu is large and covers two pages, make sure to look at them both, there are plenty of options. In regards to the food, I cannot say enough about how good the french fries were. Not due to fancy seasonings, but the french fry itself was as good as I have ever had, the person I was eating with agreed, although they liked their french toast very much also. I will be back, and encourage you to do the same.

I went there on a recommendation not really expecting much. Upon arrival, the parking was full and the restaurant was really busy. There was a wide variety of patrons too...young and old, families with young children, etc. It felt like a neighborhood gem. I ordered a half order of the raspberry custard french toast, the Dan's breakfast burrito, and an OJ. The french toast was amazingly good. It was sweet, but overly so. The burrito was tasty, but a bit too much to handle because they stuff it with fresh home fries. The servers/wait staff were super friendly and attentive. The table was wiped off, but the floor underneath it could've used sweeping. I cannot ding them too much on that because they were extremely busy. Everything else was up to par. I'll be back in the future.

The signs on the wall are fun. "Eat here or we'll both starve". But the food is really good. THIS is how you do a home cooked meal. Breakfasts are great and served anytime. I had the ham egg cheese bacon burger and it was awesome.

The restaurant itself is quite unassuming at first glance. I think it would be easy to miss if you weren't looking for it specifically. My boyfriend said it looks more, from the outside, like a place you'd go to have your taxes done than a restaurant and I agree. The inside of the restaurant has a calm and cheerful atmosphere. The table and chairs showed the wear of decades of meals eaten and enjoyed. I'll admit the run down appearance of the restaurant left me skeptical, but the meal itself completely changed my mind. I ordered the corned beef skillet. The potatoes were nicely caramelized and flavorful. The corned beef was a generous portion, sliced thin, and fried crispy like bacon. My over easy eggs were cooked to perfection. The coffee (which I take with just cream and no sugar) was fantastic, with a slightly sweet, raisin like, after taste. The staff was attentive and kind. I had a wonderful experience that I'd be happy to repeat over and over. Don't let appearances fool you, this place is a diamond in the rough.

Dan's Coney Island has been a staple in the lansing area for many, many years. The food is very good and very affordable. I had the all meat omelet, I asked for tomatoes to be added. I was pleasantly surprised when the omelet was brought out. The amount of tomatoes was impressive. Most other places scatter a tablespoons worth in the omelet. This one looked like they used the entire tomato. It was delicious.
